Kazz Regelman, Executive Director kazz@gardenhousesf.org
Kazz Regelman is an alumna of Princeton University and a Fulbright Scholar. She has written educational materials for children of all ages through Edusoft, a scholastic testing provider, where she was the Editor and Head Writer. She has written for children’s publications, and several of her articles published in Boys’ Life Magazine were chosen for an education anthology on the best American writing for children.
She has been closely involved with the Concordia Village French and Chinese camps – language-intensive sleep-away camps in Minnesota, as both a camper and a counselor. She was also a counselor in charge of preschoolers – ages 3-5 – at a French sleep-away camp in the village of Anglet, near Biarritz, in southern France, where she was the only non-French person in the camp. She has lived in France, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, and Hawaii and firmly believes in exposure to cultural and linguistic diversity at all ages. Her most in-depth experience with children is as the mother of two young children. Kazz comes from a long-line of educators, and in fact her mother, who recently retired as the principal of a K-3 bilingual private school in the Boston area, is serving as an advisor to The Garden House and Le Jardin Enchanté.
Meryem comes to the Garden House with a wealth of experience teaching French to young children. For six years, she taught French from preschool through sixth grade at Cardon West, a private school in Pleasanton. In addition, she has taught French to young children at Language at Play. In her native Morocco, as well, she taught for four years in primary, middle, and high school settings. She has taken training courses in education and is currently working toward ECE credits in Literature for Children at Chabot College. A bilingual French and Arabic speaker with excellent English skills, Meryem earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Moulay Ismail in Morocco. She has earned 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.
A native of France, Karine holds a Master Diploma in Fine Art from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Annecy, France. She has lived in San Francisco for several years, working as freelance artist and also teaching both art and French to adults and children. Besides private tutoring and lessons in homes, she has also assisted at The Purple Crayon. Before moving to San Francisco, Karine was a Teacher Assistant at the Bronx River Art Center in New York City. Her art work has been displayed in numerous solo and group shows around the world. She is currently working on a certificate in Early Childhood Education.
Kim has worked extensively with children in both French and English-speaking environments. She was an au pair for three families in the Paris area, and she worked in several large U.S. childcare centers in Norman, Oklahoma during her student years. A fluent French speaker, Kim earned her Bachelor’s Degree in French Letters at the University of Oklahoma as well as a Diploma in the Cours de Civilisation Francaise from the Sorbonne in Paris. She is the mother of two small children, both of whom are being raised bilingually. Anne Boucher
Anne Boucher grew up in Vivy, a very small village near Saumur in the Loire Valley of France. She holds two Masters Degrees from the Université d’Angers in Angers, France: one in Literary Studies & Translation and the other in Teaching French as a Foreign Language. She has taught French in San Francisco at French Class, the Alliance Française, and currently at the University of San Francisco (USF). She has worked with children extensively – both in English and in French -- and teaches in the after school program at Lycée La Pérouse. She is also one of the city’s premiere private French teachers for adults and will be leading the program for parent conversation groups at the Garden House.
